Bush Takes On the Revisionists

This AP article reports that President Bush is going on the offensive in promoting the postive reasons for the Iraq war. As I related in this post in September,
...the U.S. military fights the perception that winning wars and eliminating enemies is a routine affair, if a deadly one. And one made more difficult with a hostile press playing up any tactical defeats and mistakes.

So how to counter this opera, this perception that we have failed in the Middle East, created a worse situation, and should cut and run? The Bush administration must make a greater case to explain how our efforts will pay off in the long run. Only when people see the benefits of delayed gratification will they support things over the long haul.
I am glad to see the President amping up his efforts to correct the disinformation promulgated by America's internal enemies and their willing allies in the media. 'Bout time, and keep it coming Mr. President.

As a Canadian, my interest in American politics is whimsical at best I suppose. I prefer Bush to the standard politician - anyone who loves popularity is going to cow to the press - but a better class of statesman is more interested in doing the job he was called to do to the best of his ability before God.

I wish Canada had a Bush.

I wrote a fisk of a radically different version of Deb Riechmann's AP article. The other version repeats five separate times the accusations of manipulating pre-war intelligence that President Bush was rebutting in his Veteran's day speech, without ever once mentioning the President's rebuttals! The version you link to quotes the President's rebuttals near the top.

Check out the comparison. Did an editor do this? Can we pin down who it was? The blogosphere has had some success in exposing non-anonymous bad actors. Here would seem to be a very bad actor who so far has been able to operate anonymously. Is there a way to break through the cover and out this bastard?
