The Perot Gene
Once again, Pat Buchanan undercuts the Republicans with his rantings against a Bush administration. This time, it is about the nomination of Harriet Miers for justice of the United States Supreme Court.
Buchanan and his kindred spirits are again expressing what I call, "The Perot Gene." I cannot believe he is reviving the old "we've been had" sentiment, just as he did against Bush 41. The last time Pat and co. expressed this gene, the Republicans split for Perot, and we got eight years of Bubba and Al.
Maybe if Pat and co. express The Perot Gene enough this time, we will get eight years of Hillary and Bubba--a second Clinton "co-presidency."
This kind of discontent can only be expressed by complacent people, those that have gotten used to getting most of what they want. Yes, we have not gotten all we wanted from George W. Bush, as I related in this post. Are we going to abandon Bush every single time we don't get that doggy in the window we want, go crying to some alternate Momma, and wind up scuttling the gains we have made?
The Democrats must be loving this. Once again, spoiled and whiny Republicans are loading their weapons to shoot themselves in the foot. Maybe if we screw ourselves up well enough this time, we will end up handing the whole government back to the Democrats, and the days of Bill Clinton will seem like "the good old days."

Thanks, Jan. Interestingly, one of the hits to this post came from someone in Chappaqua, NY. Hmm...
Dude!
Loved the insightful comments about the perot gene. Checked out your site thru Hugh. Glad I did! Your site looks a lot like mine but you have more of the happenin' thingys... Any advice on how to upgrade my site with the thingys? LOL! Keep up the good work! May I link your site? I love your wit and your sarcasm and more importantly, your opinions. Good insight.
