Sheehan Knights
Michelle Malkin is reporting that MoveOn.org is organizing a rally against President Bush, ostensibly to protest his handling of the Hurricane Katrina tragedy. The post is entitled The Sheehan-izing of Katrina.
To show their great compassion, MoveOn.org is going to trot out willing victims of the tragedy to complain, request a meeting with the President, and demand to know why levee funding was cut. Michelle posts the entire press prep sheet that MoveOn.org is distributing.
For me, the money quote in there is this:
The way it works here is to accuse the President of blaming the victims of the Hurricane, and by that device to put the blame for the shoddy Hurricane response onto the President.
It is just a classic case of begging the question. Instead of the old "when did you stop beating your wife," it is "when will you stop blaming the victims"?
What do they want Bush to do? Circulate petitions, make demands, and protest? Surely, those things must help a lot. Their grandstanding has nothing to do with helping victims of Katrina. It is all about creating negative press for purposes of political damage--an alley-oop for the leftist press to slam dunk.
Who is going to repair that breach of truth and flood of lies?
UPDATE: SondraK is all over this one as well.
UPDATE: AFP report on Moonbat.org

For me, the money quote in there is this:
"Members of MoveOn.org Political Action are scheduled to hand- deliver thousands of petition signatures to the White House after the rally. The petition says, "President Bush should stop blaming the victims of Hurricane Katrina and get to work helping them."I have two observations about this. 1) Who has heard President Bush say anything that even be remotely construed to be "blaming the victims of Hurricane Katrina"? and 2) Just what does MoveOn.org regard as helping the victims?
