My thoughts exactly. Let's see. A president dies of a stroke, making way for the first female president of the United States. You don't suppose that they are trying to inoculate the public against a possible run by Dick Cheney, he of the heart condition, do you? Nah.
Oh, I know Cheney has denied any intentions of running for president. But you have to admit, if he did, he would probably get most of the conservative Republican base to vote for him. And maybe more elsewhere. This smacks of a preemptive strike against the veep, if you ask me--with Hillary to the rescue!
